Arlene Louise McDermott, 83, of Williamsport died Monday,  January 31, 2011 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.
   Born May 16, 1927 in Williamsport she was a daughter of the late Herman and Laura Marr Hill.
   Arlene was a graduate of Montoursville High School. She was a homemaker, and  enjoyed needle point and knitting and was former Williamsport High School Band Parent.
   Arlene was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
   Surviving are her children John (Christine) McDermott, II of South Williamsport, Janice Hatch of Baltimore, MD,  Cheryl  Breen of Williamsport, Richard McDermott, Candace (David) Ferguson of Racine,WI, a sister Dorothy Shaner of Montoursville, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her husband John W. “Jack”  McDermott, and a brother William Hill.
   Funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport.
   Friends may call the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
   Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
