Mabel L. (Swinehart) Bottorf
September 28, 1925 ~ January 17, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years OldMabel L. Bottorf, 91, of South Williamsport, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at Valley View Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 28, 1925, in South Williamsport, she was a daughter of William and Mary (Forney) Swinehart. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, James W. Bottorf, on Jan. 11, 2016, along with three brothers and two sisters.
She was a graduate of South Williamsport High School. She was a homemaker and was a member of South Williamsport United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and was part of the visitation ministry of elderly and homebound. She enjoyed going for walks and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Doris J. (John) Shilling, of DuBoistown and Gloria A. (Clyde) Phillips, of South Williamsport; one son, William J. (Jody) Bottorf, of South Williamsport; five grandchildren, Michael (Lynnette) Neupauer, of Williamsport, Karen (Daniel) Gephart, of South Williamsport, Jodi (Michael) Wanamaker, of Linden, Jonathan (Michele) Shilling, of Hughesville and Michele (Christian) Richardson, of New York, N.Y.; seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Hammond, of Williamsport; a brother, Earl Swinehart, of Hazelton; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20 at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. A funeral service to honor the life of Mabel will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20 at South Williamsport United Methodist Church, 409 Main St., South Williamsport, with the Rev. Mark Brumbach officiating.
