William Carl "Bill" Gray

William Carl “Bill” Gray Jr., 89, of Williamsport passed away, Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Valley View Nursing Center.

Born July 9, 1935 in Trout Run, he was a son of the late W. Carl Sr. and Grace E. (Halderman) Gray.

Bill and his beloved wife, Millie Katherine (Kyle) Gray, were married on August 22, 1954, and together they built a rich and loving life over more than 70 years. Raising four children they adored and filling their days with cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew them.

He graduated from WTI earning his associates as an Electrician and dedicated over two decades of his life as a skilled electrician with McDermott Brothers. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, was a 32nd degree Mason of Dietrick Lamade Lodge 755 and F&AM Consistory and a faithful member of Trout Run United Methodist Church.

One of Bill's most enduring passions was baseball. He spent many years as a Little League coach, shaping the lives of young athletes with his wisdom and patience. His love for the game also found him ushering at Little League events for several years, where he was a familiar and welcoming presence. His involvement in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), the Trout Run Volunteer Fire Company, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels further illustrated his deep commitment to the well-being of those around him.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Kimberlee Gravitz (Joel) of Chickamauga, GA, Christine Stout (Alan) Rome, GA, Timothy Gray (Diane) of Williamsport, and Kevin Gray (Debra) of Wilmington, NC; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Gray (Charlotte) of Warrensville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four grandchildren and his siblings, Vernon, Leon, Phyllis, Diane and Shirley.

Private interment in Trout Run Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
