Walter E. Lord

Walter E. Lord, 89, of Williamsport, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.

Born on August 22, 1936 in Williamsport, Walt was the son of the late Leslie B. and Gladys I. (Tice) Lord. He attended Williamsport High School.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army.

For over 20 years, Walt owned and operated “Walt Lord Auto Sales” at the corner of West Third and Locust Streets in Williamsport.

Mr. Lord is survived by his wife and lifelong companion of Shirley (Aikey) Lord; son, Walter J. Lord (Sherri) of South Williamsport; and grandchildren, Nathan Lord (Case Ertel) and Bailey Miller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Charles Lord, Vida M. Hiller, Gladys J. McCloskey-Saar, Arlene Wood, and Bernice A. Hockman.

A gathering for family and friends to celebrate the life of Walter is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
