Thomas J. Harsch passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, at the age of 85, at Edenbrook North in Williamsport.
Born on September 5, 1939, in Linden, he was the beloved son of the late Thomas C. Paynter and Bernadine "Dean" Florence (Krill) Harsch. Although he was predeceased by his parents, Thomas's memory is cherished by his devoted caregiver, Sheila Stiger (Keith E.), and his special niece and nephews, Timothy Stiger (Lyndsey), Rebecca Jacob (John), and Joel Stiger (Alicia). He also leaves behind extended family of distant cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Throughout his career, Thomas was a hardworking laborer who held various customer service positions. His work ethic and commitment to service were evident in every task he undertook. He was a member of the New Covenant United Church of Christ, where he found a community of faith that shared his values and spiritual journey.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Thomas found solace and excitement in the great outdoors and was happiest when he was surrounded by nature. His love for these activities was something he eagerly passed on to his niece and nephews, instilling in them the knowledge and skills to enjoy these pastimes.
Thomas's hobbies also included coin collecting and a keen interest in firearms. As a gun enthusiast, he appreciated the craftsmanship and history behind each piece in his collection. His analytical nature shone through by meticulously recording each individual piece.
In keeping with Thomas’ wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to New Covenant United Church of Christ 202 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA, 17701.
