Sharon E. Packer, 76, of Williamsport died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at home. She was greeted at heavens gates by her loving husband of 57 years, Richard A. “Dick” Packer, Sr., who passed on February 4, 2023.
Born October 8, 1947 in Williamsport she was the daughter of the late William K. Sr. and Geraldine L. (Gable) Dunlap.
She graduated in 1965 from Williamsport High School. For over 20 years, Sharon was the friendly smile behind the pharmacy counter of Walmart in Montoursville. Her ever-present happiness and bubbly personality were the sunlight in the lives of all who knew her.
Sharon was a woman who always wanted to hear about your life and your day. She made friends out of strangers and formed genuine connections that left a lasting impact on those around her. Her life revolved around her family, being involved in their lives and sharing moments with them. She was a guiding star in their lives, teaching them the power of unconditional love and the beauty of a kind word or treasured moment.
Surviving are three children, Richard A. Packer, Jr. of Williamsport, Tammy Packer of Harrisburg, and Brenda Stroble (Darryl) of Montoursville; a grandson, Richard Packer III; a beloved great-granddaughter, Lola Packer and her mother, Erin Crisano; a brother, William K. Dunlap Jr. (Denise) of Williamsport; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor Sharon’s life will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 3 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 2 at Sanders Mortuary.
