Sandra Patricia "Sandy" (Plummer) Capwell

Sandra Patricia "Sandy" Capwell, 77, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, at Watsontown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 15, 1947, in Washington, DC she was a daughter of the late Henry and Artibelle (Kelly) Plummer.

Sandy's journey began in her hometown where she graduated from William McKinley High School in 1964. Her love for science and community led her to Lycoming College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Biology and was an active member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

For 40 years, Sandy served as a Medical Technologist at the Williamsport Hospital, where her dedication and expertise eventually earned her the role of director of the lab.

She was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she lifted her voice in joy as part of the choir, touching the congregation with her musical grace. Her interests extended beyond the church walls; Sandy was an aerobics enthusiast, a skilled knitter and crocheter, and she even enjoyed the competitive camaraderie of her local bowling team for several years.

Those who knew Sandy will fondly remember her affinity for dogs, a reflection of her nurturing and loving nature. Her family was the centerpiece of her world, and she embraced every moment with them, filling their lives with laughter and song.

Sandy had a remarkable talent for languages, speaking French and Russian with ease, having the ability to sing in these languages. She could effortlessly turn an ordinary day into an adventure with her quick wit and readiness to burst into song.

Surviving are two children, Darrell Capwell and his spouse, Karen of Arlington, VA and Traci Francis and her spouse, Xavier of New Columbia; their father, John Capwell of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, John Charles Capwell, Jordan Lynn Francis and Claire Amanda Capwell; her devoted sister, Renee Sewer and her spouse, Fred and a nephew, Kenny Allen.
