Sally E. (Fournier) Freas, 84, of Cogan Station, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024 at UPMC of Williamsport.
Born August 24, 1940, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Walter George and Gladys (Compton) Fournier. Sally graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1958 and worked for many years at Little League in office administration. After her career at Little League, Sally became a caregiver for the elderly. Her kind spirited heart and attention to detail helped many clients live a better life. She not only found joy in caring for people, but she also loved animals, especially her dog, Abby. Sally had a special connection to the animals that she “dog sat” for friends. She enjoyed cooking, often sharing her culinary creations with others. Sally was a whiz at Scrabble, rarely losing and playing people from all around the world. She also occupied her time with jigsaw puzzles, word finds, and word games.
Sally is survived by her sister, Jeanne Elaine Fournier Thacker of Ringgold, GA; her niece Terri Thacker Davis of Durham NC; her nephews, George Michael Thacker (Varen), Joseph Alan Thacker, and Craig Adam Thacker (Allison), all of Ringgold. She had 7 grand nieces and nephews and 5 great-grand nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many loving friends.
Along with her parents, Sally was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wesley Freas.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sally’s name to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
