Ronald E. Perry, 88, of Nisbet passed away Friday, September 5, 2025.
Born April 6, 1937, he was the son of Otis C. and Elizabeth F. Perry.
After graduating from South Williamsport High School, Ron joined the US Navy. While enlisted, he learned several trades including diesel mechanics and refrigeration. When he returned home, he worked in maintenance at the Williamsport Hospital. He then accepted a position as maintenance supervisor for Lycoming County Courthouse, where he oversaw the construction of the Lycoming County Courthouse. Ron was a master plumber and started his own plumbing and heating business in 1976 and continued to operate that business part time well into his retirement. He then shifted careers and was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service. He eventually transferred to an automotive mechanic position until he retired in 2004.
Ron enjoyed woodworking and was always tinkering with his scrap and junk. He was a jack of all trades and tried to instill a strong work ethic into his children. He was a member of the VFW DuBoistown and American Legion Post 1. Ron also played bass guitar in local group “The Southern Nights”.
Ron is survived by his significant other of 28 years, Diana McMahon; his children, Lori Smith (Bill), Scott Perry (Donna), Lynne Garman (Curt); 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Sondra Jacopetti. He also leaves behind his 2 best friends, his golden retrievers Arizona and Lily.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Elizabeth Gayle Nuss and a brother, Otis Neil Perry and great-grandson, Oliver Liddic
The family would like to especially thank his granddaughter, Ashley Liddic for his home health care, palliative and hospice nurses Jodi and Jama, and the staff at the Gatehouse.
