Richard F. “Dick” Rupert, 92, of Linden, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at home with his loving wife of 63 years, Diane M. (Harsch) Rupert by his side.
Born April 11, 1933, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Kenneth A. and Mary E. (Mulvey) Rupert.
Dick was a hard worker, proudly spending 43 years at Schnadig Corp as an esteemed upholsterer, followed by 23 years as an Escort for High Steel. He enjoyed camping with friends and family, especially in Pine Creek. Mowing the lawn, going on cruises, and visiting multiple national parks on a bus trip with Diane were some of his favorite memories. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing and snowmobiling with his friends and family. Dick also loved spending time with his brothers at the hunting cabin in Cascade. Any time spent with family was time well spent for Dick.
He was known as Pop-Pop by his grandchildren, and was loved for his storytelling, where he taught them many life lessons. Above all, he was a jokester who loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was truly a man who was proud of his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tammy Kiess (Jeff), of Cogan Station, and Terri Costello (David) of Littleton, NC; five grandchildren, Zachary (Jena), Kylie (Forrest), Alyssa (Maverick), Kevin (Christine), and Lauren (Andrew); eight great-grandchildren with one on the way; as well as three siblings, Robert Rupert, John Rupert (Jan), and Sandra Edler (Gary).
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two siblings, Dorothy Ann Holmes and Kenneth Rupert.
A memorial service to honor Dick’s life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, at Sanders.
