Richard J. “Rick” Banzhaf, 60, of Williamsport, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at home.
Born September 19, 1963, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Jack R. and Mary E. (Stopper) Banzhaf.
Rick graduated from Williamsport High School in 1982 and worked for many years as an environmental service agent for Eagle Janitorial. Rick was a sports fanatic, spending hours in front of the television cheering on his favorite teams. Those teams included Penn State, Duke University, the Boston Red Sox and the Celtics, but he had an overwhelming love for the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Black Hawks.
Rick enjoyed listening to rock and roll music and attending local concerts, and was present at Woodstock’s 50th Anniversary event with his brother.
Above all else, Rick loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews and was known as a quiet, and giving person who will be missed by all who knew him.
Rick is survived by four siblings, Linda Banzhaf, JoAnne Harsch, John Banzhaf (Rose), and Thomas Banzhaf (Robin), all of Williamsport; three nephews, Shawn Harsch (Nikki), John Banzhaf (Adrienne), and Joseph Banzhaf (Rebecca); his great nieces and nephews, Stuart, Jaid, Piper, Leah, and Emma; great great-nephews Lawson and Daxton; as well as many cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Michael T. Banzhaf.
Rick’s family will be receiving friends at the home of Linda Banzhaf and JoAnne Harsch, Saturday, February 3, 2024, from noon until 3 p.m. They will be serving Rick’s favorite food, pizza.
