Regina Gross Obituary

Regina M. Gross, 95, of Williamsport, passed away on Friday, May 29 2026 at Leighton Place. She has finally been reunited with her first husband, Glen Sechrist, as well as her second husband, Marvin Gross.

Born August 26, 1930, in Quiggleville, she was a daughter of the late Edward L. and Grace E. (Dauber) Hornberger.

Regina was a 1948 graduate of Hepburn High School and then continued her education at the Miss Wheaton’s Secretarial School. In her younger years, she was a waitress at Lee’s Diner, where she met her first husband; and later became a secretary for Banker’s Life working in the Casualty department. After 30 years there, she finally retired.

Regina was a lifetime member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church where she was also known as the choir director for many years. She was a past president of WELCA, as well as a member of the Church Women United group and the quilt club. Regina had a passion for traveling and in 2006, took a mission trip to Liberia as well as traveling to lots of different places.

Surviving are three siblings, Clyde “Sam” Hornberger (Ruth), Miriam Webster, and Mildred Bartley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and both of her husbands, Regina was predeceased by two children, Pamela Sue and Harvey; as well as four siblings, Edward J. Hornberger, Anna “Jean” Dickey, Josephine Bower, and Carolyn “Carol” Eckert.

 A Memorial Service to honor Regina’s life will be held 2 p.m., Friday, June 12 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 1877 St. Michael’s Road, Cogan Station 17728. Burial will be held at the family’s convenience.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Regina’s name may be made to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church.
