Pauline Waldman Obituary

Pauline E. (Fry) Waldman, 91, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John A. Waldman, Sr. whom she married on June 26, 1954, and together they spent 68 blissful years.

Born February 23, 1934 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late LaVerne Thomas and Margaret Ruth (Parks) Fry.

Pauline graduated from Williamsport Area High School. Her first job was behind the counter at the local 5&10, where she met her husband, John, after he came in for a late-night milkshake. This meeting sparked the beginning of 68 years of love, laughter, and happiness together. She went on to work for Williamsport Hospital, Sylvania, and ended her working career as a CNA on private duty. She was also a faithful, devoted life member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Pauline was a warm-hearted woman whose gentle spirit touched everyone she met. More than anything, she treasured her family and the time spent with them. She found joy in the simple things; gardening, baking, eating ice cream and cooking meals that brought her family together. She always fed others, making sure that their hearts and bellies were full. Known for the twinkle in her blue eyes and her friendly, social nature, she lit up any room she entered. She enjoyed bird-watching, crocheting, and creating ceramic pieces. Her love for animals and peaceful days at the beach spoke to her kind and carefree soul, leaving behind comforting memories.

Surviving are three children, John A. Waldman Jr. (Angelina), Cynthia R. Baker (Gary), and Lisa R. Fries; eight grandchildren, Amber (Seth), Justin (Sara), Megan, Zachary (Allison), Kaylee (Eric), Kyle (Mandi), Gabrielle, and Shaye; four great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Teddy, who was her faithful companion until the very end.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Fry.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 24, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road, Bastress, with The Rev. Michael McCormick, celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
