Patricia Brobson Obituary

Patricia A. Brobson, fondly known as “Pat” or “Patty” to her friends and family, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2024 at the age of 77. A lifelong resident of Montoursville, Pat was born on May 23, 1946, to the late Paul C. and Agnes E. (Rudinski) Hendricks.

Pat was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her love story with her devoted husband, Robert C. Brobson, began with their marriage on December 10, 1966, and spanned over 57 years of togetherness.

A proud graduate of Montoursville High School Class of 1964, Pat began to work for the Pennsylvania State Police at the Troop F Headquarters in Montoursville, where she met her future husband.  For many years, she focused on raising their young family. When the children were older, Pat returned to work as an insurance claims coordinator for Little League Baseball International, retiring after 15 years of service.

Pat appreciated life's simple pleasures. She was an avid reader, needlepoint enthusiast, and, when given the opportunity, loved to dance, especially a good Polka. When traveling, Florida, Aruba and Hawaii were destinations of choice and when home she took immense pride in her children’s accomplishments. Pat loved being around people. She could light up a room with her vivid blue eyes and smile and always put the well-being of others before her own.

Pat’s legacy lives on through her three children: Virginia Jessell (Randy) of Williamsport, Robert Brobson II (Jill) of Chicago, and the Honorable P. Kevin Brobson (Lauren) of Harrisburg.  Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of each of her nine grandchildren: Rhiannon, Rhiallie, Claire, William, Rhandie, Stella, Grace, Gabe, and Chloe. She was a constant presence in their lives, affectionately known as "Nanny," celebrating with pride in every achievement and milestone. Pat is also survived by her brother, Paul Hendricks of Montoursville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Hendricks.

Pat’s family and friends will remember her as people-centered and family-focused, providing strength and encouragement to everyone around her. Her love for others showed up in her everyday interactions, as well as her homemade sand tarts and macaroni and cheese.

Services will be held privately at this time. Memorial contributions in Pat’s name may be made to Penn State THON, a cause near and dear to her heart.
