Nancy F. Hoffman, 81, of Williamsport, passed away surrounded by her family Friday, August 3, 2018, at UPMC Susquehanna. Surviving is her loving husband of 50 years, Algier L. Hoffman.
Born March 24, 1937, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Thompson) Free.
Nancy was a 1955 graduate of Williamsport High School and later returned to work in the cafeteria at the high school for 29 years where she enjoyed interacting with the students and her coworkers. She also worked for several years at the Medicine Shoppe in Williamsport helping wait on customers.
She was a long time member of St. John's- Newberry United Methodist Church. Nancy took great delight in being known as "Moo-Moo" to all, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved watching National Geographic television shows and QVC, being around people, laughter and having a good time.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her children, Jeffrey (Carlina) Shirey, of Reno, Nevada, Lynne (Kip) Harvey, of Garner, North Carolina, Daniel (Kimberly) Hoffman and Keith (Christy) Hoffman, all of Trout Run; a step son, Kevin Hoffman, of Linden; nine grandchildren, Eric, Nathan, Derek, Ashlee, Natalie, Owen, Jace, Samantha, and Jacob; and three great-grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by a grandson, Mackenzie.
A memorial service to honor the life of Nancy will be held 3:30 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2018, at St. John's-Newberry United Methodist Church, 2101 Newberry St., Williamsport. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service on Monday at church.
