Myra Teasley, 70, of Williamsport, passed away surrounded by family on November 22, 2025.
Born October 9, 1955, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Dorothy Nadal.
Myra earned an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts, and her passion for cooking was evident in her career as a skilled prep cook. She worked at Hoss's Steak and Sea House for many years, among other local restaurant establishments.
A devout Christian, she was a member of Diamond Street Christian Church, where she sang with the praise team. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with comfort and guidance.
Myra's interests were as vibrant and diverse as her personality. She had a love for music and could often be found dancing to the rhythm with a joy that was infectious. A green thumb, she surrounded herself with a plethora of house plants that thrived under her care. She had a love of cowboy movies and the Andy Griffin Show and her family will especially miss her famous stuffing and seafood salad.
Myra was always impeccably dressed, with her hair, nails, and jewelry reflecting her sense of style and grace. Above all, Myra cherished the time spent with her granddaughters, who were her world. She is survived by her devoted son, Sharif Mercer, and her granddaughter, Layla Perez-Williams (Jerome), whom she raised with all the love in her heart. Myra was a proud great grandmother to four great granddaughters, Atiya, Paris, Sapphire, and Dream, who were the light of her life. She will also be missed by her siblings, Gracie Woodward, Jarzell Stokes, and Terrell Stokes (Susan),all of Philadelphia, and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Despite facing her own hardships, including the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Atiya Rodriguez, her resilience continued to shine, always touched by a bit of her feistiness. Her spirit remained
unbroken, and she never stopped speaking her mind, in ways both stubborn and sweet.
