Muriel J. (Snyder) Dieffenbacher

      Muriel J. Dieffenbacher, 99, of Williamsport passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Hillside Senior Living Community. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Milo L. Dieffenbacher. 

      Born December 5, 1922, in Oval, she was a daughter of the late Roy H. and Faye (Bixler) Snyder. Muriel graduated from Oval’s one room school house and spent the majority of her life turning a house into a home as a loving wife and mother.

      She was a life member of the Oval/DuBoistown United Methodist Charge and attended DuBoistown UMC where she was active in the church women’s society for many years.

      Muriel and Milo had a passion for gardening and were well known in the DuBoistown area for their greenhouse homestead. For more then 20 years, they tended to the three greenhouses located behind their home, raising and selling plants, vegetables, and flowers to their well known and loved neighbors and friends.

      Surviving is a son, Gordon R. Dieffenbacher (Cheryl) of Cogan Station; two grandchildren, Crystal L. Miller (Chad) and Chad G. Dieffenbacher; two great-grandchildren, Anneliese and Corbin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

      In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Betty and Lynn Snyder.

      A graveside service to honor Muriel’s life will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Oval Cemetery, 6726 Route 44 Highway, Jersey Shore, PA 17740 (casual attire is requested).  

      In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Muriel’s name may be made to DuBoistown U.M.C., 133 Summer Street, South Williamsport, PA 17702.
