He raised funds to purchase the first fire safety trailer which he brought to schools to teach the youth about fire safety and prevention.
He was a member of the First Ward Fire Company in South Williamsport and the Young Men’s Republican League. As a past exalted ruler of Elk Club 173, he led with a gentle hand and a generous heart, leaving an indelible mark on the organization.
Mike’s interests were a reflection of his personality—full of life, love, and a spirit of giving. Whether playing a competitive game of horseshoes, enjoying a game of hearts with his friends, or watching Crosscutters baseball, he brought laughter and camaraderie to every gathering.
He had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, and his absence will be deeply felt in the community and by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Those who knew Mike will remember him as a loving individual, whose courage in the face of adversity was matched only by his compassion for others.
