Obituary
Michael A. Hamm, 72, of Williamsport died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at UPMC Williamsport.
Born February 18, 1951 he was a son of the late Frank A. and Ethel M. (Root) Hamm.
He was a graduate of Williamsport High School. Mike worked in the area as a self-employed house painter and loved the friendships he created with customers. He enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo. Thank you Opa/ Mike for all the delicious soups, pies, cakes, breads and the fresh tomatoes and zucchini every summer.
Surviving is his loving wife of 35 years, Nancy L. (Mitchell) Hamm whom he married December 27, 1986; two children, Sarah C. Hamm (Dan Johnson) and Alexander F. Hamm (Hannah) all of Williamsport; six grandchildren, Damon, Marcus, Adrian, Kaden, Grace, and Carter; siblings, Dorothy Martin (Jim), Richard Hamm (Peach), Paulette Bittle (Richard), Frank Hamm (Sharon) and Patricia Moser (Robert); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Delores “Dolly” Shoemaker.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
