Maxine Marie Wier

Maxine Wier, 58, of Williamsport, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025 at UPMC Williamsport.

Born, December 21, 1966, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Gilman and Hazel (Roup) Wier.

Maxine’s life was a canvas of vibrant experiences, marked by the sweetness and love she generously shared with those around her. Her calm demeanor was a comforting presence to all who knew her, and her stubborn nature was a testament to the strength and resilience that defined her.

She found joy in the simple act of coloring, where her artistic talents would bring forth bursts of color that reflected her inner beauty and the way she perceived the world. When she wasn’t coloring, she enjoyed watching the Long Ranger as well as Supernatural.

Surviving are four siblings, Darlene Wier, Patricia Kline (Gary), Lisa Statham (Paul Clacher), and Christopher Wier; six nieces and nephews, Cornelia Wier, Heidi Zimmerman, Timothy Wier, Crystal Barger, Tobias Jarrett, and Tricia Jarrett; 13 great nieces and nephews; and one great-great nephew.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was predeceased by a sister, Diane Wier; a niece, Amanda Jarrett; as well as her two favorite cats, Paprika and Binksy.

In keeping with Maxine’s wishes, a memorial service to honor her life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Maxine’s name to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
