Matthew James Kennedy

Matthew James Kennedy, 46, died unexpectedly, Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Born January 4, 1979 in Hanover he was a son of the late Suzanne M. Kennedy.

Matthew graduated from Warrior Run High School and worked as a Regional Manager for Fisher Auto Parts.

Matthew will be remembered for his kind heart and devotion to friends. An avid Steelers fan, he never missed a game and proudly cheered on his team through every season. He was a true movie buff who could quote his favorites and enjoyed sharing that passion with others. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his nephew, Austin, who held a special place in his heart. Always willing to lend a hand, Matthew was the type of person who would step up to help friends or even a stranger in need. His generosity, laughter, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his friends, Kevin Poust and Kelly Maneval and their children, Nicholas Zerbe, Logan Zerbe and Austin Poust who considered Matt an uncle; and an uncle, Stephen Kennedy of Kentucky.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister; his grandparents, Pauline and Gerald Kennedy; an uncle Robert Kennedy and aunt, Geraldine Trump.

A memorial service to honor Matthew’s life will be held 1 p.m., Saturday September 13, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. A visitation will be held from Noon until the time of service Saturday at Sanders.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Matthew’s name may be made to Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, 3301 Wahoo Drive, Williamsport, PA 17701.
