Mary McCracken Obituary

Mary Elaine McCracken,69, of Williamsport, died November 1, 2019 at AristaCare in Loyalsock, ending a heroic battle with Huntington’s Disease. Born September 18, 1950 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Lois (McMichael) Gearhart and Warren Harris.

 

Mary was a graduate of Williamsport High School; class of 1968.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved going for rides in the country with her husband Jack.  Mary was a talented western line dancer and enjoyed teaching classes, coordinating and preforming with the Bear Country Wranglers at public events and in nursing homes. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and an avid collector of Betty Boop memorabilia.

 

Surviving are her husband and loving caregiver Jack P. McCracken together they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 2; sons, Jeffrey (Kelsey) McCracken of Harrisburg, Shawn McCracken of Harrisburg, and Corey McCracken of Williamsport; stepfather Maynard Gearhart of Waldorf, Maryland; sisters, Sharon Miller; of South Williamsport, Brenda Gearhart of Waldorf, Maryland and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald Harris, and sister Debra Wanamaker.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Sanders Mortuary 821 Diamond St. Williamsport, followed by words of remembrance at 7 p.m.
