Marvin Fishel Obituary

Marvin E. Fishel, 87, of Williamsport, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at UPMC Passavant with his family by his side. Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years, Beverly (Waltz) Fishel, whom he married May 14, 1966.

Born August 24, 1937, in Port Matilda, he was a son of the late William G. and Mille N. (Weaver) Fishel.

He graduated in 1955 from Bellefonte Area High School and went on to attend the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in 1959. Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War.

Marvin worked at Wegmans, CA Reed, Stroehmann’s Bakery, and retired from the US Postal Office as a mail clerk. He was a faithful member of Fairlawn Community Church and the Lycoming Creek Lions. Marvin enjoyed gardening and mowing the grass.

In addition to his wife, Marvin is survived by two sons, William “Bill” W. Fishel (Lori J.), of Cogan Station, and Dwayne E. Fishel (Catherine N. Bransky) of University Heights, OH; and four beloved grandchildren, Haylee Conklin (Tanner), Eli Fishel (Brook Rozenberg), Ryann Fishel, and Teagan Fishel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister.

A memorial service to honor Marvin’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, at Fairlawn Community Church, 353 Pleasant Hill Rd., Cogan Station, PA 17728. Private burial will be held in Wildwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
