Marla H. Crossley, 85, of Cogan Station passed away Saturday October 21, 2023 at the Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Paul J. Crossley.
Born August 8, 1938 in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Anna Mae (Saylor) Haupt.
Marla was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. She worked at Big N and retired from Brodart. Marla volunteered for many years at Jackson Elementary with the PTA. During her time at the Williamsport Home, Marla became a Pennsylvania Empowered Expert Residents (PEER) to self-advocate and empower fellow residents to improve quality of life and care.
She enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles, and attending Williamsport Cross Cutter Games. She loved Penn State Football and was known as the “cookie lady.” Above all, Marla loved her family and her cat, Max, dearly.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Brooks (James) of Sycamore, OH; a granddaughter, Amanda Phlegar of Cogan Station; her siblings, Stan Haupt, Linda Nau, and Susan Oswalt; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor Marla’s life will be held 11 am Wednesday, October 25 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. A viewing will be held from 10 am until the time-of-service on Wednesday at Sanders.
