Marguerite "Peggy" Neyhart Obituary

Marguerite E. “Peggy” Neyhart, 98, passed away peacefully on Wed., April 2, 2025, at Valley View Nursing Center. Born on August 28, 1926, in Williamsport, she was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Peggy was a woman of remarkable intellect and spirit. She graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1944 and went on to be a Cadet Nurse and Registered Nurse through Williamsport Hospital, a testament to her dedication to education and helping others. Her career was marked by devoted service at the Williamsport E.R. and Clinic, and she retired from Leader Nursing Home after many years of compassionate work.

On May 22, 1949, Peggy married her high school sweetheart, Donald J. Neyhart, and together they built a life filled with love and shared values until his passing in 2014. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Lucinda "Cindy" Andruscavage and the late Rebecca N. Huff, and she took immense pride in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Joshua Huff (Elizabeth), Samuel Huff (Jennifer), Matthew Weikel (Raechel), Patrick Cooper, Ashley Stewart (Jordan), and Angela Andruscavage (Christopher Smith), as well as her great-grandchildren, Deegan, Darenger, Audria, Ryder, Piper, Max, Joseph, Colson, Emmett, Thomas, and Alice.  

Along with her husband and daughter, Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite (Koch) Fowler and John Fowler, Sr.; her siblings Jean Fowler and John “Jack” Fowler, and son-in-law, Joseph Andruscavage.

Peggy was a life-long member of Lycoming Presbyterian Church, where her and Don were active contributors.  Peggy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, always enjoying a good lunch date.

Viewing will begin at 10 am with funeral services to honor Peggy being held 11 am Wed., April 9, 2025, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport, with burial to follow in Montoursville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peggy’s name to the American Heart Association.
