Margaret J. Arp, 75, of Montoursville passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 of natural causes at her home.
Born April 10, 1944 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late James C., Sr. and Josephine D. (Cardelli) Arp.
Peggy was a 1962 graduate of Williamsport High School. She graduated from Tennessee Temple University and briefly taught elementary school in New Hampshire. She returned home to take care of her mother while working as a secretary at Divine Providence Hospital.
She was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed watching numerous sports on TV and enjoyed watching “her church kids” playing many different sports locally.
Surviving is her brother, James C. Arp, Jr. (Janis), of Williamsport; a sister-in-law, JoAnna Arp, of Clarks Summit; nieces and nephews, JoAnna, Jessica, Joshua, Judith, Jeanne, James, III, and Jeffrey; and 13 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. William E. Arp.
A funeral service to honor the life of Margaret will be held 12 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 911 West Third Street, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 11-12 p.m. Wednesday at church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Peggy’s name to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
