Lucille J. Brown

   Lucille J. Brown, 93, of Williamsport, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Virgil D. Brown on Nov. 24, 2003.
     Born Dec. 4, 1928, in South Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Howard J. and Dolly (Bennett) Best.
Lucille was a 1946 graduate of South Williamsport High School. She worked as a book keeper for AVCO, Weldons, and the Sun Gazette, retiring in 1979.  
     Lucille was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she was actively involved.
     She had a generous heart and used it to touch many lives through her volunteer work with Meals On Wheels and Hospice care. In her spare-time, Lucille enjoyed traveling and playing cards.
     Surviving are three children, Connie L. Mosser (Dr. Bruce, Jr.) of Linden, V. David Brown (Diane) of Lewisburg, and Sharon K. Michaels (Gary) of Panama City Beach, Fla. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, six grandchildren, Darrick Mosser, Kristin Adkins, Lindsay Pawling, Adam Brown, Ryan and Matt Michaels; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, E. Carlyne Bausinger, Dorothy Jarrett, James and David Best.
     A funeral service to honor Lucille’s life will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 8, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport.  Burial will follow in Woodward Township Cemetery, Linden. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at Sanders.
