Kaye L. Sharar, 73, of Williamsport, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at UPMC Susquehanna. Surviving is her loving husband of 42 years, John A. Sharar.
Born February 13, 1947 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Harold “Skeet” Maurer.
Kaye was a graduate of Williamsport High School and a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She had worked as a secretary at ShopVac for over 15 years. Kaye enjoyed playing on her iPad, shopping, arranging flowers and photography. She could often be found outdoors tending to her garden of vegetables and her flowers or canning the fruits of her labor.
Kaye had a warm heart just like the way she kept her home, always thinking of others before herself. If you had the honor to dine at Kaye’s table, you experienced her made from scratch cooking where enough food was always made to feed an army. She adored her family and the time she spent with her grandchildren and especially her great-grandson, Kai who she dearly loved.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Mark J. Sharar (Erica) of Linden; two grandchildren, Jodi L. and Dakota J. Sharar both of Williamsport; a great-grandson, Kai Fox; a brother, Harold Maurer of Jim Thorpe, a daughter-in-law, Susan Sharar, several nieces, nephews and extended family members and close friends. Kaye cherished the relationships she made at the Dialysis Center.
A funeral service to honor the life of Kaye will be held 10 a.m. Friday, February 28 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday February 27 at Sanders Mortuary.
