Judith J. (Johns) Fortin

Judith Jane Fortin, 85, of South Williamsport, passed away at home with family by her side on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Surviving is her loving husband of 65 years, Charles E. Fortin.

Born December 23, 1939, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Lois (Newton) Johns.

Judy was a graduate of South Williamsport High school and after starting her family she returned to school to obtain her nursing degree. She was a lifelong nurse whose dedication to her profession was evident in the way she cared for others, whether privately or through her work at several local doctors' offices and home care agencies.

Her greatest joy was her family. As a devoted mother, Judy's world revolved around raising her four sons. As her family grew and her role evolved, she embraced the title of "MeMe" with enthusiasm, attending every activity and milestone often found in the stands, at recitals, and attending all family gatherings. Judy's interests were as warm and nurturing as her personality. She loved dogs, enjoyed a good book, and an adventure often taking trips with her husband to the beach and Canada.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Michael D. Fortin (Angel), of DuBoistown, Todd E. Fortin (LouAnn), of Williamsport, Matthew J. Fortin (Wanda), of Hughesville, and Erick C. Fortin (Stephanie) of South Williamsport; 18 great grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; and her beloved dog Cupid.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
