John F. Vought, Jr., 65, of Williamsport, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025 at the Gatehouse.
He was the beloved husband of Gail M. (Snyder) Vought with whom he would have celebrated 47 years of marriage in January.
Born and raised in Williamsport, John was the son of the late Jeanne (Morgan) and Ed Apker.
John worked as an electrician for over 30 years. He worked for Steve Waldman Electric, Inc. and was contracted to Alcan Cable from 2002 until his retirement in 2018. Alcan was a place he often spoke of with great fondness for both the work and the people.
John was an outdoorsman who loved camping, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Gail, Mr. Vought is survived by his children, Jessica Kidane (Abraham), Jason Vought (Tanya) and Joshua Vought (Marissa); sisters, Gina Keefer (Jesse) and Christy Smith; and five grandchildren, Dylan, Mary, Julia, Nolan and Rhett.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edgar R. “Ricky” Apker, III.
A Memorial Mass for John will be held at 10 am on Friday, December 19, 2025 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. 4th St, Williamsport, with Rev. David W. Bechtel officiating.
Interment to follow at Wildwood Cemetery.
