John K. Maggs

     John K. Maggs, 66, of South Williamsport, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at The Williamsport Home. 

     Born March 13, 1953, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Galen Frederick and Shirley (Warrenburger) Maggs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne L. (Stover) Maggs, and a brother, James Maggs.

     John was a graduate of South Williamsport High School. He was a self-employed dry wall contractor and owned and operated Maggs Dry Wall (No Bull Dry Wall). John was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church, the Harmonia Club and the Elks Lodge, Jersey Shore. He enjoyed golfing and playing darts. John especially loved hunting and fishing with his grandsons.
     

     Surviving are a daughter, Lisa M. Getz, of South Williamsport; two grandsons, Brandon Wayne Getz and Brady Eric Getz; four siblings, Timothy Maggs (Deb), of South Williamsport, Dave Maggs, of Cogan Station, Ellen Koser (Scott), of Montoursville, and Dann Maggs (Lynette), of Florida; aunts and uncles, Bruce and Phyllis Maggs, of Jersey Shore, Elaine Sanso, of South Williamsport, and Ellen Kriner, of Montoursville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

     A time of visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Pine Run United Methodist Church, 1719 Pine Run Road, Linden, with a funeral service to honor John's life to follow. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Mount Bethel Cemetery, Lamar.
