It is with profound sadness that the family of John A. Guerrisky, Jr., of South Williamsport, announce his passing on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the age of 67. John passed away peacefully at home, with his loving wife by his side, following complications from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and the rare disease, Scleromyxedema.
He was the beloved husband of Anna E. (Mahonski) Guerrisky, with whom he shared 46 beautiful years together.
Born January 27, 1959 in South Williamsport, John was the son of Shirley (Olson) Guerrisky and the late John A. Guerrisky, Sr.
He was a devoted husband, father and “poppy” to his grandchildren whose unconditional love was the foundation he built his family on. John's life was rooted in honesty, humility and guided by a strong moral compass.
From a young age, John developed a strong work ethic which continued throughout his life. John was always ready to lend a helping hand and did so without expecting anything in return. He retired from Aamco Transmissions after 40 plus years as sales manager.
John’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he adored. He loved long bike rides on the Rails to Trails and fishing trips to Canada in the Fall.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Guerrisky is survived by two daughters, Sarah Mest (Travis) of Bristow, Virginia and Mary Codi of Sinking Springs; five grandchildren, Evelyn, Ava, Andrew, Ethan and Emily; sisters, Linda Carlin (Brad), Lisa Jenks (Charlie), Joni Boyles (Denny); brothers, Gary Guerrisky (Dawn) and Eric Guerrisky (Nancy); along with many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Greg Guerrisky.
An evening visitation will take place from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, May 21st at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street, Williamsport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, May 22nd at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 800 W. Central Ave, South Williamsport, with Rev. Glenn E. McCreary officiating.
Interment will be held privately for the family.
