Jeannett M. Sponhouse

Jeannett M. “Jeannie” Sponhouse, 71, of Linden, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at home. She is finally reunited with her late husband of 46 years, Stephen L. Sponhouse, who passed away on December 31, 2016.

Born November 29, 1953, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Amata (Keefer) Liddic.

Jeannie found happiness in creating a warm and welcoming home, as she spent her life taking care of the family she and Stephen built together. She found joy in playing games on her iPad, a hobby that brought her modern-day pleasure. However, her love for technology never overshadowed her passion for the traditional pastimes that brought her family together. She was a formidable opponent in board and card games, reveling in the friendly competition and laughter that accompanied these family game nights.

Visits with her grandchildren were the highlights of Jeannie's days, moments that she looked forward to with eagerness and excitement. She also found peace in gardening, reveling in the feel of the sun on her face and the soil beneath her hands.

Jeannie’s stubbornness and tenacity saw her through life's many challenges, and it was this same stubbornness that her family came to admire and love. Her strength and love will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by a daughter, Nichole Totton (Chris), of Winfield; two grandchildren, Chase and Isabella Totton; as well as a brother, Curt Liddic.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Gardner.

In keeping with the family’s wishes, no services will be held.
