Jay Gordner Obituary

Jay A. Gordner, 71, of South Williamsport, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.

He was the beloved husband of Linda A. (Miller) Gordner, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage.

Born in Pennsdale, Jay was the son of the late Henry and Dorothy (Mincemoyer) Gordner.

He was a 1972 graduate of Jersey Shore High School then went on to receive his Bachelors degree from Penn College.

For over 50 years, Jay provided local body shops with custom mixed paints and auto supplies.

He and his wife were active members of the First Church Williamsport. He was also a member of the VFW in Duboistown, the Zafar Grotto Rafaz Club in South Williamsport, and the Wheel Inn in Ralston.

Jay was a self-proclaimed motorhead and was a classic car enthusiast. He also enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman.

Jay and Linda cherished motorcycle rides together, often exploring the winding mountain roads and peaceful countryside. They also enjoyed trips to their hunting cabin, The Lost 8.

Known for his warm heart and witty sense of humor, Jay loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted, compassionate man who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

In addition to his wife, Linda, Mr. Gordner is survived by his step-sons, Michael (Cami) Beck of Colorado Springs, CO and Jeffrey (Tish) Beck of Jonestown; four grandchildren, Brennan, Morgan, Hunter, and Hannah Beck; and brothers, Eugene Gordner (Linda) of Nisbet and Ray Gordner (Mary) of Canton.

Services to honor Jay’s life will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, September 28th at First Church Williamsport, 601 Market Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
