Harry J. Miller, Jr., age 83, of South Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 11, 2026.


Born on March 10, 1943, he was the son of the late Harry J. Miller, Sr. and Rhea (Bates) Miller. Harry was a graduate of Williamsport Area High School, Class of 1961. Following his education, he proudly and honorably served his country in United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. His service reflected the strength, discipline, and sense of duty that remained with him throughout his life.

After his military service, Harry built a respected career as a business owner through Miller’s Trucking and Miller’s Coal Company. He was known as a hardworking and dependable man who took great pride in providing for his family and serving his community. Harry was also a gifted mechanic who could fix just about anything. He enjoyed reading the Bible and keeping up with political news, and he recently attended Northway Community Church. His faith was an important part of who he was, and it guided him through both the joys and challenges of life.

He is survived by his daughter, Candace Vassallo of Williamsport; his sons, Harry Miller, III and his wife Christine of South Williamsport, Jeffery Miller and his wife Laura of Montgomery, Richard Miller and his wife Karen of Montoursville, and Timothy Miller and his wife Kathy of Montgomery. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Kirk, Heather, Luke, Jessika, MacKenzie, Jacob, Emily, Kaitlyn, Chancelor, and Thayden, as well as one great-grandson, Harrison.

Along with his parents, Harry was also preceded in death by his wife, Sherilyn (Painter) Miller, who passed away on November 13, 2010; his son-in-law, Joseph Vassallo; and his sisters, Dolley and Jeanie.

A graveside service to honor Harry ‘s life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Montoursville Cemetery. Following services at the cemetery, there will be a gathering of family and friends at Duboistown Firehall, 2661 Euclid Ave., Duboistown, PA 17702.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Harry’s name to Northway Community Church, 1680 Four Mile Dr., Williamsport, PA 17701.
