Gary Sherwood Feist (aka Hawkeye), 75, of Nisbet, passed away, Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Gatehouse after extended health issues.
Born November 24, 1950 to the late Sherwood L. Feist and Susan S. (Schweikart) Feist.
Gary graduated from South Williamsport in 1968. Gary was the owner and operator of Auto Recycling in Nisbet and was well known throughout the automobile industry. He enjoyed shooting pool and spent many years participating in pool leagues, where he formed many friendships. Outgoing and friendly, Gary had a wide circle of friends and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Surviving is a brother, Alan L. Feist (Marsha Bergman) of Linden; two sisters, Karen S. Minteer (Kenneth) of Trout Run and Debra A. Freezer (Mark) of Cogan Station; three nieces and four nephews; and a special friend, Jeanie DeGarmo of Linden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Betron Feist; his brother, Dennis G. Feist; niece, Amy Patt and her husband, Jeremy.
A graveside service to honor Gary’s life will be held 1 p.m., Friday, January 16 at Wildwood Cemetery, 91 Cemetery Rd, Williamsport.
