Gail Smith Obituary

Gail Ann Smith, 80, of Williamsport passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

Born August 15, 1943, Gail graduated from Williamsport Area Senior High School in 1961. She worked at Edwards Motor Transit, Continental Trailways. In 2005 Gail retired after a 30-year career at the Lycoming County Board Assistance office as a clerical supervisor.

Gail was a member of the former Ascension Catholic Church and a current member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.  

In her younger years, she was a girl scout and liked playing tennis and riding bikes. She was an accomplished bowler being a life member of the National 600 Bowling Club, and bowled often at ABC, Faxon and Harvest Moon. She enjoyed cheering on the Penn State Nittany Lions, Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Phillies. Gail loved anything Coca-Cola, taking bus trips, and animals. Above all else, Gail loved spending the days with her beloved cats, King, Tux, and Smokey.

She is survived by her siblings, Lisa L. Kelley (Timothy) of Halifax, William C. Dunkleberger (Karen) of Elijay, GA, and W. Scott Royer (Janice) of Ephrata; and her nieces and nephews, Nicole Keen, Kayla Kelley, Kristinia Kelley, Jacob Dunkleberger, Andrew Dunkleberger, Michael Royer and Daryl Royer.

A graveside service to honor Gail’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 23 at Wildwood Cemetery, 91 Wildwood Blvd., Williamsport, please meet at the cemetery office.
