Frederick Paul Thomas

     Frederick Paul Thomas, 83, of Williamsport passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Williamsport Home.

     Born October 24, 1940 in Jenkintown, PA he was a son of the late G. Harrington and Helen (DePue) Thomas.  He graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy junior-senior high school and VFMA Junior College, with a degree in Business Administration.  Then he graduated From Curry College, majoring in psychology.

     Surviving is his beloved wife of 57 years, Jackie (Greene) Thomas and their son, Christopher P. Thomas (Lily) of West Chester; and a brother, Bruce Thomas of Blufftoon, SC.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Griffith Thomas.

     Fred worked for Fidelity Philadelphia Trust Company, Reading Trust Company, and Southeast National Bank as well as other Federal bank postings.  Fred also served the National Guard for 20+ years and retired as a Master Sergeant after 20 years in the US Army.

     Fred’s volunteer services included Ambulance crew chief (Reading, Pa), 10+ years as a volunteer in the Divine Providence Hospital operating room (Williamsport, PA), and a military volunteer to aid returning veterans re-enter the workforce in north-central Pennsylvania.

     Fred enjoyed spending 40+ of his summers on Long Beach Island, New Jersey – sunning and swimming.  He also enjoyed time in local clubs with friends, including the Elks, Polish Club, Republican Club, VFW, and American Legion.

     Trivia note:  During his youth, Fred danced on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand.

     Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

     In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Fred’s name may be made to a local SPCA.
