Fernando Berrones, Sr.

Fernando Berrones, Sr., 49, of Williamsport died unexpectedly, Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Born October 10, 1975 in Brownsville, Texas he was a son of the late Ignacio Berrones Sr. and Juana (Martinez) Berrones.

He graduated from Homer Hanna High School in Brownsville, Texas. Fernando will be remembered for his huge heart, his devotion to family, and his fun-loving nature. He had a goofy sense of humor and a knack for pulling pranks that always left others smiling. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, drinking Coca-Cola whenever he could, working in his garden, and the occasional gamble. Fernando’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He especially loved watching “Criminal Minds” and “Law & Order SVU” with his late sister, Martha who passed away on September 16, 2024. His love, laughter, and light will never be forgotten.

Surviving are two children, Fernando Berrones Jr. (Krystina Yeagle) of Williamsport and Alexis Nicole Berrones of Houston, Texas; his grandchildren, Aviana Nicole Guerrero, Josiah Kane Smallwood, Amora Rose Houser, and a granddaughter on the way; his former wife, Maribel Mendoza; siblings, Dalilah Berrones of Brownsville, TX, Cosme Berrones (Brenda), and Ignacio Berrones Jr. both of San Antonio, TX; a sister-in-law, Roseanne Niabes; special nieces and nephews, Juan Garza, Jacqueline Garza, Nicholas Stevens, and Derek Stevens (Safiyah Muhammad) Cosme Berrones, Jr., Vanessa Berrones, Esmeralda Berrones, Kasandra Niabes and Brianna Vasquez all of Williamsport; special aunts, Gloria and Rachel Berrones; and a large group of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Martha Berrones and Jorge Chavez.

A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street Williamsport.
