Elizabeth K. Anthony Obituary

Elizabeth Katherine Anthony, affectionately known by all as Betty, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on December 11, 1949, in Williamsport to the late Llewllyn and Margaret (Godfrey) Bloom, the youngest of ten children. Betty's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and joy which she shared generously with all who knew her.

Betty married the love of her life, Harold (Butch) Anthony in 1979. They shared four children: Gregg (Lisa) Anthony of South Williamsport, Chad (Erin) Anthony of Milton, stepchildren Shawn (Heather) Anthony of Williamsport, and Heather Anthony (Richard) of Tampa, Florida.  Betty's joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Shawn (Emily), Meghan (Andrew), Emma (Mike), Curtis, Julie, Millie, and Skye, and she was further delighted by her great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ethan, Brody, Adalyn, Oliver, Laine, and Otto.  In addition, Betty is survived by three siblings, Barbara Krainak, Mary Halderman, and Raymond Bloom.

She was a graduate of Williamsport High School's class of 1967, she went on to graduate from Empire Beauty School. She was a familiar and friendly face in Williamsport, having worked at Wig World for many years and becoming affectionately known as one of the "Carpet Ladies" during her years of dedicated service at Loudenslager's Carpet Corner.

Betty's interests and involvements were a reflection of her vivacious spirit. She was a social member of the Harmonia Club, where her presence was always a bright spot. Retirement offered her new pleasures, including a fondness for scratch-off lottery tickets and Games of Skill. She was also celebrated for her unexpected talent, "The Back Flip."

A woman of compassion, Betty supported The Folds of Honor, an organization close to her heart. She believed strongly in their mission to provide educational scholarships to the families of fallen and disabled U.S. service members and first responders, and her legacy of support will continue to impact lives for years to come.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to, Folds of Honor at: www.foldsofhonor.org.
