Eleanor M. Zavada "Mom Polly," 98, of South Williamsport, passed peacefully, Monday, Aug. 17, 2020, at home surrounded by her family.
Born Jan. 4, 1922, in Library, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Irene (Potts) Blackwell.
Polly was a graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a member of Pine Street United Methodist Church and VFW Post 7863, DuBoistown Ladies Auxiliary. Polly was a beautician for many years and retired from Keystone Friction Hinge.
Surviving are her children, Polly A. Lehman (David, Jr.), of South Williamsport, Mary I. "Mitze" Breneisen, of Muncy, and Betty R. Buckle (Bruce), of Williamsport; a daughter-in-law, Judy Bower; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Zavada; a son, Earl R. Bower; granddaughter, Christine Sheasley; brother, Raymond G. Blackwell; sister, Louise Blackwell Hockman, and son-in-law, Donald E. Breneisen.
A memorial service to honor the life of Polly will be held privately at the convenience of the family with burial at Twin Hills Memorial Park. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.
