Doris Brown Obituary

Doris M. Brown, 83, of Williamsport, died Saturday, January 25, 2020 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, George N. Brown.

Born April 18, 1936, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Olive Elizabeth (Doan) Kuhns.

Doris was a 1954 graduate of Williamsport High School, and was a member of Faxon Kenmar United Methodist Church. She spent most of her working career at Bell Telephone, and GTE Sylvania. Doris enjoyed reading, crocheting, shopping the QVC channel, she loved Christmas, and buying Christmas gifts for everyone.

Surviving are; a son, Bryan Galetti (Patty) of Cogan Station; two daughters, Brenda Schwanbeck (Terry) of Hughesville, and Sandra Pontius (Raymond) of Mifflinburg; six grandchildren, Dustin Galetti, Andy Schwanbeck, Amber Goff, Kegan Pontius, Thomas Steinbacher, and Shawn McCormick (Matt); five great-grandchildren, Allyson, Colin, Madeleine, Shaelyn, and Halle; a sister, Anna Jean Williams of Montoursville; and a brother, Charles Kuhns (Bernie) of Montoursville.

In keeping with Doris’s wishes, services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doris’s name may be made to Faxon Kenmar United Methodist Church, 1301 Clayton Ave, Williamsport, PA 17701.
