Donald J. Labuski, 89, of Montgomery, died peacefully, Monday, July 8, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born May 17, 1935 in Williamsport, he was a son of Fred and Pauline (Potrzebowski) Labuski.
Don was proud to play for the Newberry Little League team that played in the first Little League World Series in 1947. He was a graduate of Williamsport High School class of 1953 and retired in 1997 from G.I. Electric Company, after repairing electric motors for over 40 years.
Don was a longtime member of the Newberry Independent Club “Polish Club” where he had served on the board of directors for 47 years. He was a member of the Moose Club, South Williamsport, Montgomery American Legion, and a life member of the Republican League. He enjoyed woodworking, tending to his garden, golfing (having a hole in one at White Deer Challenge Course #14 in 2016), and playing softball. He had a love for traveling and Polka music.
Surviving are his wife Linette M. Zarzyczny, with whom he shared 30 years together, three daughters Donna Boyer, Diann Ambs (Richard) of Williamsport, and Mary Louise Mahonski (John Rothrock) of Williamsport, three grandchildren, Shaun Boyer (Jessica), Lydia Moon (Abram), and Madeline Finnerty (Manny), three great-grandchildren Addison, Jackson, and Harrison, a sister Shirley Paulhamus, several nieces, nephews, and his dog Harry S. Truman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Fred and Stanley Labuski and son-in-law Richard Boyer.
A memorial service to honor the life of Don will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 12 at Sanders Mortuary 821 Diamond St. Williamsport. A time of visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday at Sanders.
