Donald L. "Don" Beck

Donald L. "Don" Beck, 67, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2026, in the town where his life's journey began.

Born on March 21, 1959, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Don was the son of Robert Beck and Mable Bilby-Myers. He grew up in the area and attended high school in Montoursville, Pennsylvania. A lifelong resident of Lycoming County, Don built a life defined by hard work, dedication, and an unwavering love for his family.

Don spent his career in the paving industry and was employed as a Paver Operator with Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family, remaining dedicated to his work until the very day of his passing. Those who knew him respected his dependability, determination, and willingness to work hard to support those he loved.

Outside of work, Don enjoyed the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, hunting, and sports and found joy in spending time outdoors, especially with his beloved dogs. Don particularly loved watching football, baseball, and hockey with his wife. Not only did they share a love for sports, they bonded over growing and caring for plants. He was a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, The New York Yankees, and Penn State. More than anything, however, he cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, attending family gatherings, watching sports, or simply enjoying each other's company, family was at the center of Don's life.

Don was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. As the sole provider for his family, he worked tirelessly to ensure that those he loved were cared for and supported. His strength, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. 

Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tanya Lee Beck; his father, Robert Beck; and his mother, Mable Bilby-Myers. While their loss was deeply felt throughout the years, there is comfort in knowing they have been reunited.

He is survived by his children, Kyle Beck, Brock Francis, and Jessica Francis; his daughter-in-law, McKenzie Beck; Brock's fiancée, Rebecka Rowland; and Jessica's fiancé, Luke Anderson. He is also survived by Vanessa Chilen, who was like a daughter to him, and her children, Carter and Gunner, whom he loved dearly. Also surviving are his sister Patty and her husband Robert Myers, and his Uncle Don.

Don is further survived by his cherished grandchildren, Brazzen Beck, Lyla Beck, Leo Francis, Cameron, Anneliese, Alana, Colton, Audrina, and Carrington, all of whom brought tremendous pride and joy to his life.

In addition to his family, Don leaves behind his longtime friends Ben, Eric, Darron, Aaron, Glenn, and Donny. Friendships, loyalty, and shared memories enriched his life over many years.

Don will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his loyalty, his love of the outdoors, and, above all, his devotion to his family and friends. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he gave so freely.

Throughout his life, Don placed the needs of his family above his own. Following the loss of his beloved wife, Tanya, he continued to carry the weight of providing for those he loved, never wavering in his commitment to his family. He worked tirelessly, often putting in long days and making countless sacrifices to ensure his children and grandchildren were cared for. His love was not always expressed in words, but in the steady presence, hard work, and unwavering support he gave every day. The example he set through his strength, resilience, and selflessness will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him for generations to come.

Though he is no longer with us, Donald "Don" Beck will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
