Donald James Baillie Obituary
Donald James Baillie, 53, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from injuries sustained in an accident.
Donald was a graduate of Pembroke Academy in New Hampshire, Class of 1993, and he carried the values of perseverance and responsibility with him throughout his life. He was a hard worker with a great work ethic, and he took pride in earning his way through steady and dependable labor. He spent several years employed as a forklift operator at Patton and was most recently employed at Staiman Recycling.
Donald enjoyed a wide range of interests that reflected his personality and love for life. He had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed playing pool, always appreciating the challenge of the game. He was also a loyal New England sports fan, following the Patriots, Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox with enthusiasm, and he had a special appreciation for Notre Dame Football and UConn Women’s Basketball.
Music was another source of enjoyment for him. From Irish Folk to Slayer, he loved all genres and found something meaningful in the many different sounds and styles. He also found peace outdoors, where he enjoyed taking walks in the woods, a good campfire and taking in the beauty of nature and the scenery around him.
Above all else, Donald was a devoted father who loved his children. He was a great dad who took pride in his family and in the role, he played in their lives. He was extremely honest and always believed in himself and in others, and he had a way of offering advice that carried both wisdom and care. Those closest to him knew that he had a strong will and a powerful presence, but they also knew that he meant well in all that he did.
Donald is survived by his mother, RoseMary McAlister; his five children, Amanda Malone, Devlin, Oberon, Alexzander, and Charles Baillie; his two grandchildren, Aidyn and Khyra; the mother of his sons, Heather Burtyk; his seven siblings, David Jr., Daniel, Patrick, Dawn, Douglas, Devin, and Heather Baillie; numerous nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Janice “Morni” Burtyk. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Richard “Prinka” Burtyk.
