David Hawkins Obituary

David L. Hawkins, 88, of Williamsport, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Ann (Logue) Hawkins, who passed away April 10, 2021 after spending 58 loving years together.

Born December 6, 1936, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late David and Mary V. (Finkel) Hawkins.

David was a 1955 graduate of Williamsport Area High School and then spent two years at Lock Haven University and Lycoming College. After college, David became an Account Executive working in insurance, and retired from Marsh McLellan. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army.

David was also a member of the Loyalsock Lions Club, the Republican Club, and frequented the Wheel Inn. He enjoyed watching sports, cheering on his favorite basketball team, the Villanova Wildcats. As a Notre Dame football fanatic, it was only appropriate for him to join the Notre Dame Club.

A loving father and grandfather, he is survived by two children, Julie A. Hawkins, of Williamsport, and Kathleen C. Brennan (Tom) of West Chester; two grandchildren, Morgan E. and Justin J. Patton.

In addition to his parents and his wife, David is preceded in death by all eight of his siblings.

In keeping with David’s wishes, no services are to be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in David’s name to the Susquehanna Health Foundation, c/o The Gatehouse, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701, and/or The Salvation Army, 457 Market St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
