Daryl Miller Sr. Obituary

For friends, family and others who came to know Daryl, “Dad” our loving father, my husband let us share some of our most fondest memories of this wonderful man.

Dad was born April 9, 1939 in McElhatten, PA. He was a graduate of South Williamsport High School in 1958. From there Daryl enlisted in the United States Army and became part of the Army Signal Corps.

In 1965 Daryl named the “Love of his life” Sandra Lee Nunn from White Deer, PA. The two married for 55 years and resided in Linden, PA. Daryl and Sandra have three children, Launa Miller from Muncy, PA, Darla Miller-Lorenz from Lewisburg, PA and Daryl Rodney Miller Jr. from Linden, PA. Daryl also has one son-in-law, Scott Lorenz.

Daryl was a very patriotic man and had a true passion for family, fishing and the great outdoors. He loved Penn State Football and Music; especially Electric Light Orchestra, Cher and Imagine Dragons. Music was Daryl’s “go to” and gave him peace while falling asleep at night.

He spent many weekends on the great lakes fishing with great friends and family. Daryl loved jeeps, four wheeling, snowmobiling, camping and hunting with his son.

Daryl especially loved Christmas and time with his family and three grandchildren, Miller, Mitchell and Finley Lorenz. Christmas was his favorite time of year; not just for holiday decorating and giving but for a chance to break out his “fine WINE”. YES! Daryl made wine.

Daryl never missed an opportunity to tease and poke at loved ones. He had a great sense of humor and loved to have fun. He had a nickname for everyone.

Dad, “Daryl” will always be remembered for his kind hearted spirit. He was an incredible father, a great husband, a loving pappy and a great family man.

Our loving father and devoted husband lives on in all of us in our daily lives. Our memories and incredible family journey will always provide us with positive thoughts, great laughs and traditions that will carry on for many generations.
