Darlene M. (Mayers) Fairfax

Darlene (Mayers) Fairfax, 89, of Williamsport passed away January 3, 2026 at UPMC following a brief illness.

Darlene was born June 13, 1936 in Renovo. She was a 1954 graduate of Williamsport High School and a devoted, loving mother. Darlene worked for many years as a waitress at the original Peg and Bill’s Diner and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and watching game shows.

She is predeceased by her parents, William F. Sr., and Edna I. (Swartwood) Mayers and her step-mother Lorraine Mayers. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Bauder, her first husband, Richard B. Orwig and her second husband, Ambrose "Buzz" Fairfax.

Surviving are her four children, David B. Orwig (Renee) of Harrisburg, Michael E. Orwig (Trina) of Williamsport, Barbara J. Orwig and Matthew R. Orwig both of Muncy; a brother, Gary L. Mayers of Williamsport and two half brothers, William F. Mayers, Jr. of New Oxford and Brian S. Mayers of Biglerville; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
