Daniel Lee Mayer, Sr.

Daniel Lee Mayer, Sr., 74, of Williamsport, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at home while surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Williamsport, Daniel was born on April 23, 1949, a son of the late Geraldine (Beightol) and Paul A. Mayer, Sr.

Daniel graduated from Williamsport High School in 1967, and from WACC in 1969 as a mechanical draftsman. On August 14, 1971, he married the love of his life, Kathleen “Kathy” (Fleeger) Mayer.

Daniel owned and operated Ardenlee Concrete Products, before his retirement in 2020. Daniel will be remembered as a hardworking man, who not only had an infectious laugh, but also enjoyed making other people laugh. Family was everything to Daniel and he especially loved his wife, Kathy.  Daniel spent as much time as possible making memories with his grandchildren and he loved having his dogs around. He was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving along with his wife are a daughter, Carrie Mayer (Steve Ball, Jr.); a son, Daniel L. Mayer, Jr. (Holly Henry), and a brother, Paul A. “Babe” Mayer, Jr. (Dolores). Daniel also leaves behind to cherish his memory four grandchildren, Sarah and Abigail Spatzer, Logan and Brock Mayer; and two step-grandchildren, Paige and Logan Ball.

In keeping with Daniel’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Wildwood Cemetery.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses and aides of UPMC Family Hospice, for the exceptional care and support provided to them and Daniel.
