Clarence L. Winner, 90, of Loyalsock, passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 8, 2025 at home. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dawn (Brosius) Winner.
Born April 29, 1935, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Raymond and Ruth (Fullerton) Winner.
Clarence was devoted to both his family and to the many children he watched over as a dedicated custodian and crossing guard for the Loyalsock Township School District.
Outside of work, he was a man of many passions, one of his favorites being bowling.
Above all, family was the cornerstone of Clarence's life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether it was watching wrestling with his grandsons or embarking on camping adventures, these precious times were filled with love and laughter.
Even in his quiet moments, Clarence exuded a comforting presence. Known for always wearing his signature flannel shirts, he embodied the steadfastness and reliability that flannel represents. His attire was a visual testament to the consistency and warmth he provided to all who knew him.
Clarence's impact on the world was marked by the gentle footprints he left on the hearts of those he touched.
In addition to his wife, Clarence is survived by two children, Becky Hughes (Duane) of Montoursville and Crystal Strosser of Duboistown; six grandchildren, Ashlee, Tyler, Chase, Nicholas, Hannah, and Sherilee; two great-grandchildren, Adelynn and Ezekiel; a son-in-law, Jerry McCaslin; a sister-in-law, Betty Winner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon L. McCaslin who passed away in 2013; as well as his three siblings, Raymond Winner, Patricia Heisley, and Eleanor Gehr.
A funeral service to honor Clarence’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, December 12 at Faith Wesleyan Church, 1033 Tucker St, Williamsport. Burial in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery will be held at the families’ convenience. A viewing will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of service Friday at church, where the family asks that those in attendance consider wearing a flannel shirt in Clarence’s honor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Clarence’s name to Faith Wesleyan Church, 1033 Tucker St., Williamsport PA 17701.
